SELECTION OF PETTY OFFICERS (MACHINIST MECHANICAL,MACHINIST ELECTRICAL,CRANE OPERATOR) ON DIRECT CONTRACT FOR OFFSHORE VESSELS ON ARTICLE OF AGREEMENT AS PER INSA NMB .

Selection Process :

1. Selection of Petty Officer ( Mechanist, Mechanical, Mechanist Electrical, Crane Operator) will be conducted on every Tuesday and Thursday @1430hrs.at3rd floor (engine dept.),provided these are normal working days.
2. After gathering of all applicants at 1430hrs.,designated officers from FP dept. will brief about selection process.
3. Selection of Petty Officer will be done from applicants present at time and date only.
4. Selection is exclusively for Off shore vessel and candidates experience on offshore vessel is very necessary at time of selection. Preference will be given to candidate with sailing experience with The Shipping Corporation Of India Ltd. and in possession of ONGC valid pass on day of selection.
5. A person who is unemployed for maximum period, is given first chance of employment in the rank, provided his previous employment record is clean and also meets minimum requirements for the rank, type of vessels & other conditions applicable of fleet personnel.
6. After selection of candidate, all original documents will be verified and found ok then petty officers will undergo medical examination. Medically fit petty officers will be allotted Off shore vessel and subsequently posted on vessels subject to completion of all formalities and vessel availability and plan of relief. In case SCI regular employee is available, he will be given priority than direct contract selected candidates.

Minimum requirement (Qualification) : Candidate should be in possession of All Original Certificates and one set of Photocopy (Xerox) attested by Gazetted Officer at the time of selection. No candidate will be allowed to undergo selection process unless he/she possess below original documents.

1. Applicant must have at least six months of onboard sailing experience on OSV’s.
2. Must have served onboard vessels at least for six months in last subsequent three years.
3. Must be possession of Technical qualification like Diploma in Mechanical engineering from recognized polytechnic or National Trade Certificate in the trade of Fitter or Diesel/Motor Mechanic or Machinist, issued by National Council for Training in Vocational Trade, Ministry of Labour , Govt. of India (NCTVT)or by the Industrial Training Institute of State Govt.(ITI) OR Two years Trade apprentice Course certificate from a marine workshop in the trade of Fitter or Diesel/Motor Mechanic or Machinist.
4. Must be in possession of valid Indian CDC, Passport, Pan Card, INDOS no., Police Clearance Certificate & ONGC NED Pass.
5. Mandatory Certificates of FIRE PREVENTION & FIRE FIGHTING,PERSONAL SURVIVAL TECHNIQUES,ELEMENTARY FIRST AID,PERSONAL SAFETY & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY,H2S FAMILARIZATION COURSE ,HELICOPTOR COURSE.
6. Must be Medically fit for sea service as per present medical rules.
7. Must have at least one year of  service on the day of selection & must have all documents valid for at least one year from day of selection. Age of retirement is 60 years.
8. Must be in possession of all required valid certificates for the rank.

Selection of Petty Officer is only for direct contractual engagement. The terms of engagement will be applicable only for the contract period engaged and The Shipping Corporation of India do not have any obligation to absorb selected candidates in permanent employment and has no obligation for future direct contractual engagement.
